Investment Advisor Representative

Ben Bouman is a Los Alamos native with a firm commitment to serving the people of Northern New Mexico. He has a deep understanding of the area’s rich and diverse culture and heritage, as well as the characteristics that make it a unique place to live and work. He operates on the philosophy “serve the client and the rest will follow” and works to make a difference in the lives of the families he serves.

As an investment advisor representative, Ben provides clients with a full spectrum of services suited for each phase of life—from Self-Directed Brokerage Account management to planned giving and estate planning. An independent broker rather than a captive agent, he is not bound by proprietary product selections; instead, he works with the best of the best to construct creative solutions that are completely customized to precisely address the needs and circumstances of each client. The best interests of the client come first in all situations and, as a fiduciary, Ben exercises the highest level of integrity in all activities.

Ben’s designation as a Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant represents years of experience and a specialized level of expertise in handling the pensions and benefits of Laboratory employees, state employees, and federal employees. His understanding of the conditions and questions employees face enables him to deliver the best advice for each situation.

Clarity and transparency are high priorities for Ben; he delivers advice in plain language, without jargon, making sure clients understand why certain investments are chosen. Needless to say, he is easy to talk to. By setting and managing expectations he creates peace of mind for people as he works with them to accomplish their long-term goals. Clients are viewed as friends and Ben is honored to hold sacred the trust they place in him.

Community service and volunteerism play important roles in Ben’s life. As an avid snowboarder and instructor who learned to ski at age seven on Pajarito Mountain, Ben takes a day off each week to share with others by teaching snowboarding for the 5th grade program at Pajarito. He actively participates in many community events and also serves on the board of two non-profit organizations.

Ben attended the University of New Mexico and holds series 7 and 66 securities registrations, state life and health licenses. Northern New Mexico is home—the place where red and green chiles mean it’s always Christmas. Ben appreciates the time he spends with his family, traveling with his wife, Beth, and son, Brady, on trips long or short, and he enjoys the peace he finds in the Jemez Mountains.  Ben’s two favorite hobbies are playing golf and snowboarding. He’s starting to teach his son to snowboard, but at this point Brady seems more entertained by throwing snowballs at Dad.
